Learn media competence and making movies from professionals

What is media competence, how does news get made and how can one check whether sources are sound? What are the challenges of making a movie from planning and research, to writing a script, image composition, interview technique cutting and musical rendering? Taking part in our workshops, you ́ll be able to learn all that as well as put your newly acquired knowledge to use immediatley.

Workshop Travelling through the media landscape

Workshops for teenagers with two workshop-guides, 5 h
“Introduction to what media competence is and how does news get made“ from a journalistic perspective and with a focus on film- Here we are ging to discuss the challenges of making quality news: Requirements, planning, legal framework, research in regards to genuine and fake news, balance and an overview of serious/ unserious sources of news. We ́ll go through short video clips and engage in some internet research, as well as have a discussion with experienced journalists.

Workshop Let ́s make a movie

Workshops for teenagers with two workshop-guides, 6 h
“Introduction to how does a movie get made?“, where the challenges of making movies will be discussed with rts news-journalists: Preplanning, concrete research, script, image composition, interview-techniques, moderation- and presentation-techniques. Furthermore, requirements for serious and truthful news coverage/ documentation will be addressed, via short filmclips. Also an introduction of the cameras, which will then be provided at the school or the youth centre for a specific period of time. Lastly, there is the possibility of holding a workshop accessible for everyone, simply by using our mobile phones!
