Lern.Film.Studio

The 2020 founded Lern.Film.Studio is a non-profit association which, through outstanding networking and inclusion of experts, offers valuable and throughout Austria unique opportunities for educational institutions, students, teachers, teenagers and people who are generally interested in the media. Because of the geographical proximity to and the ideas shared with the Regional TV Salzburg, Presseclub Salzburg, akzente Salzburg and the University of Salzburg (Communication Studies Institute) – extensive synergies can be created. Furthermore, Lern.Film.Studio has access to a professionally equipped Studio, modern technical infrastructure, top notch equipment and the opportunity to air on a digital medium, which broadcasts in Salzburg and is also connected to the regional broadcaster (R9), accessible everywhere in Austria. Additionally, we are excellently connected with Salzburg´s educational institutions, youth-institutions, media-representatives, public organisations, as well as environmental organisations. Our association is a member of the federal association for media education.

Chairlady Deputy. Prof. Thomas Steinmaurer

Communication Scientist, Ao. Univ.-Prof. is department chief „Center for ICT&S“ at the faculty of communication science at the University of Salzburg. The division conducts research about the developments of the digital transformation in all its many different shapes and forms, as well as its importance for the individual and society. He was long-time chairman of the Austrian corporation for communication science (ÖGK) and chief editor of its quarterly published magazine, the „Medien Journal“. He is currently in charge of coordinating the lecture for post-graduate students „Internet & Society“ and oversees the faculty´s research-committee. He is also on the board of the cinema „Das Kino“ Salzburg and vice-chairman of the association Lern.Film.Studio.

Chairlady Elfi Geiblinger

The long-time ORF-journalist functioned as editor on the radio and on TV for various broadcast stations, worked for 9 years as programme-manager and had many lectureships for TV-journalism at the University and the FH Salzburg. Due to her involvement in issues of women´s rights, she was awarded the Troll-Borostyani-Preis . Geiblinger´s emphasis was on the topics of health, social questions and the role of women in society. She created weekly programmes for radio Salzburg. At the end of May 2017 Geiblinger quit her occupation in the public in order to retire and is now board member in the association Lern.Film.Studio.

Dr. Gerhard Rettenegger

Since 1982 he has been working as Radio-, TV- and Onlinejournalist in the ORF-Regional studio Salzburg. Initially as a freelancer, then editor and as chief editor for 6 years. Prior to that he studied communication science at the University of Salzburg and finished his studies with a doctorate. Ever since the mid-nineties he has been lecturer in the faculty of communication science at the University of Salzburg, at the University of further education in Krems, at the Austrian Media-Academy, at the WIFI, etc.

Josef Aichinger

Is founder and chief executive of rts Regional TV Salzburg and allows the association the access to a modern studio and a national broadcast station. He was vice mayor of Abtenau and was and is chairman of various sports- and tourist associations in Salzburg. Moreover, he is a member on the board, as well as federal spokesperson of the R9 group (regional TV-stations of Austria), which allows for media-cooperation and broadcast opportunities throughout Austria.

Dipl.-Päd. Veronika Gmachl BEd, MBA

She studied educational science and economy, works as a teacher in Salzburg and has in recent years, among other things, collaborated in building the Salzburg Urstein institute, as well as organised the competition for joined-up thinking, Ecopolicyade Austria. To her it is important to make education, which is based on innovative learning methods and ideas, fit for the future. On the board of Lern.Film.Studio, her role is to be an educational consultant.

Mag. Lothar Riedl

Studies of political science, journalism and communication science with a focus on film at the University of Salzburg, as well as training at the ORF, at the New York Film Academy (New York City) and at the Hollywood Acting Workshop (Los Angeles); he worked as manager at the Bavaria Film group (München), as head of EuroPrix Temas at the Salzburg Research GmbH and the online-editorial department/ TV-productions for arteATVBBCBayerischer RundfunkNDR, ORF und Servus TV.[2] Since 2016 Riedl has been teaching at the Fachhochschule St. Pölten.[3] Since 2017 he is a nationwide sworn and judicial certified authority on the subjects of television, film, cinema, video. He is member of the Austrian Directors Association (ADA). ).[5] In 2012 Riedl was awarded the Lifelong Learning Award. He is founder and chief executive of Riedl.TV and Film Production.

Marie Manzl

Currently goes to Afit Saalfelden, is an involved member of the ERASMUS+ projects “Young Identities“ and “Nicht Alltäglich“, was co-producer of the documentary „Wia geht´s uns?“, which talked about the situation for teenagers in Salzburg/ She currently receives training in the project “#smuFi Sicher und mutig unterwegs – Mädchen und junge Frauen im Internet”, which translates to: „Girls and young women safe on the internet“, in order to become a future smuFi-coach. She is interested in equal rights for women, likes to bake imaginative cakes and would like to start a band. She is youth-consultant as part of our board and carries in the very important youth-perspective!

Tabea Salome Baur, B.A.

Has been a video-journalist at RTS since August of 2022. From 2009-2012 she studied communication science at the University of Salzburg. She gained experience in television during internships at ServusTV and the production company Maximusfilm. In the course of the European Red Bull programme she returned to Servus TV as editor-graduate to the department of culture during the years of 2015-2017. Afterwards she switched to the department of documentaries and was editor for the format “Bergwelten“, as well as “Die besten Köche der Welt – Zu Gast im Ikarus“ (the best cooks in the world – Guests in Ikarus“). She designed a few episodes of Bergwelten and also Heimatleuchten and directed among other things for the portrait Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner – Never underestimate the power of your dreams. 2020-2022 she completed an extra occupational training to become and educator for theater and acting and sat in at the regional theatre of Salzburg within the theatre pedagogy division called “Junges Land“.

Thomas Mayer

is a film maker from the region Lungau. He completed the Wifi-course for film-making and production in the period of 2009 – 2011. Since 2009 he has been working freelance as a Video- and TV-journalist, among other things for the regional broadcast station in Salzburg RTS, he produced documentaries and commissional work for various platforms. Moreover, he is quite experienced with school-projects and workshops, which he facilitated and implemented, including a teen movie from 2017, which was exclusively produced by students.

Norbert Pany, B.A.

… has been a passionate film maker and photographer ever since his early childhood. From 2016-2018 he studied philosophy in Munich, before he moved to Austria in order to study communication science at the University of Salzburg. Since 2018 he has acquired work-related experiences in radio-journalism (Radio Arabella München, WELLE1), in 2019 he completed his journalism training in the radiofabrik Salzburg, additionally he has directed multiple documentaries and short films and he also has his own podcast. He has been working for RTS as a video journalist since 2022 and is responsible for the Social-Media division.

Johannes Kirchberger

Professional photographer, film productions, multi-media productions, founder of “honei.film“ in Goldegg.

Mag. Christoph Lindenbauer

The passionate musician studied at the Mozarteum Salzburg and has worked for the Mozarteum orchestra and the “Wiener Philharmoniker“. As a freelance musician, Lindenbauer gave concerts in the Austrian Ensemble “Neue Musik“ and in the international Paul Hofhaymer Ensemble. He operated in the ORF-regional studio as a journalist, where he produced segments for radio (Ö1, Ö2) and television. Lindenbauer has been working as a cultural journalist and art critic at APA (Austrian press agency) since 2001, and also as a freelance author for publishing houses and event organizers. For now, he is a cultural journalist at rts.
